The Kraken

The Kraken is a former merchant ship that has been taken over by a mysterious Mindflayer known as Squidface. It's original crew seems to have been replaced by skeletons and wights. All of the current crew members appear to have been dead for a very long time, and none of them are reanimated from the original crew of the ship. Bethany Rogers, captain of The Royal Seagull, knew the former captain of The Kraken.

The ship has been modified to include a large trebuchet at the stern, which can be used to launch heavy projectiles at far-away targets with a high degree of accuracy.

The second, more drastic modification is the bone pit. The ship's lower decks appear to have been gutted, and filled to the brim with human bones and remains. Those bones appear to be backup crew waiting to be re-animated, as well as ammunition.

Prior to boarding, the crew of the Kraken carefully packs the remains from the bone pit into padded barrels. The barrels are then launched onto the enemy ship, and re-animated once they hit it's deck. The undead launched this way attack the crew, preventing them from mounting a proper defense while The Kraken matches their speed, and prepares for boarding.
