Zorander Isle is the largest man made island in Eoran, and home to the [[Mages Guild]] and [[Academy of Magics]].

Despite it's small size, it is considered a sovereign nation ruled by the Council of Wizards which is an independent governing body elected by the magically inclined native inhabitants of the island. In practice this means the council is elected from within the members of the Mages Guild by the members of the Mages Guild.

The island is said to have been magically uplifted from the sea by the Archmage Zorandon himself. Before it was a small circular archipelago on the edges of an underwater impact crater created by a falling star. The great Archmage supposedly discovered the remains of the star on the bottom of the ocean and lifted it upwards inverting the crater and forming the large island.

The star's core is buried deep under the island soil, but it's presence is undeniable, as it seems to act as a magical resonator that amplifies and modulates all magical forces near by. This is why Zoranden chose this place as the site for the greatest magical university and magical research facility in the world. Nowhere else magic is so strong, and so acute.
