Kylee O'Ren's parents were murdered when she was a young child. As a result she was raised by her uncle of the Strongbrow Clan.
Not much was known about the circumstances of their deaths.
After locking eyes with Squidface he caused Kylee to enter a flashback and witness this event. It appeared to be the result of a heist gone wrong.
