The First Court is an ancient structure in the heart of Red Mesa district of Fynwell that serves as the seat of the High Court.
It is a large redstone structure supported by ornate columns. The The Grand Magisters preside from an impossibly tall stone pulpit that juts over what is known as The Pit of Despair. The pit is an ancient shaft drilled deep into the heart of the mesa. In the ancient times, the criminals who have been found guilty of heinous crimes have been tossed into the pit from a stone plank. Today the plank has ornate, gilded safety railings and a built in lectern from which a Barister or a Justicar can address the Magisters.
