Thousands of years ago, the Council of Seven banded together and decreed to purge the Paragons from the land.  They sought to judge and execute all of the Paragons using their immensely powerful relics which, when the majority of the Council came to an agreement, could be used to grant the wielder enough power to attempt to take down a Paragon.

The Council of Seven was successful in their mission.  After the last of the Paragons was executed, the Council was disbanded, and their weapons were hidden away. The [[Calendar]] year was reset to mark the end of the Age of the Paragons and the beginning of a new age.

The Purge was an ancient war during which the mortals overthrew the Paragons and destroyed their physical vessels forcing them out of the Prime Material Plane.  
  
One such cleansing during the Purge was the assault on [[Lord Aiden's Mansion]]. [[Darius Korelius]] believed [[Lord Aiden]] to be a paragon and led an army to the mansion for an attack. [[Count Drakenhoff]] laid the killing blow upon Lord Aiden and was handsomely rewarded.
