Caretaker Modrons

Caretaken Modrons are be specialized Duodrones that inhabit, maintain and protect Lord Aiden's Study.

It is unclear how they came to reside there, but they do appear to have been ordered to perform specific tasks within the study, and they maintain their post without questioning or wavering as it is in their nature.

There appear to be at least three specific teams of Duodrones in the library that have been equipped for, and ordered to perform specific maintenance tasks: exterminators, grabs and fixers.

Exterminators are armed with ranged weapons such as mortars and magical ray projectors and appear to be trained to attack interlopers from a distance, once the Flumph Librarian closes curtain walls on the book shelves.

Grabs race ahead of the Launchers and try to capture potential thieves, recover any stolen books, and then toss the invaders into the middle of the room where they can be dealt with by Exterminators.

Fixers scuttle around on the ground and repair any damaged Modrons so that they can get back to their duties. They tend to completely ignore any enemies.

When facing overwhelming odds, the three types of Duodrones seem to be capable of combining their forces, and transforming into Modron Protectrons.
