Deep Folk

Deep Folk are variant humans who can trace their ancestry to subterranean dwellers that settled the inhospitable South West continent thousands of years ago. Modern day Deep Folk have pale gray skin, reddish eyes and ashen hair. They are on average shorter than their cousins with very few reaching close 6 feet in height. They also tend to be leaner with few individuals weighing over 200 pounds.

Most of Deep Folk live in the five great cities of the South Reach Emirates. Because of their sensitive skin and eyes they prefer subterranean dwellings, and usually wear protective clothing when venturing outside during the day.

Player Characters wanting to play a Deep Folk character can use the following template:

Deep Folk (race)

Ability Score Increase: Your ability scores each in crease by 1.

Age: Deep Folk age at the same speed, and have the same life expectancy as other humans.

Alignment: Deep Folk raised in the Emirates tend towards being Lawful.

Size: Your size is Medium. Deep Folk tend to be, on average shorter than humans. Very few reach the height of 6 feet or taller.

Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Minor Darkvision: You have excellent vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 30 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Sunlight Sensitivity: You have disadvantage on attack rolls and on Wisdom (Perception ) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of your attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.

Languages: You can speak, read, and write Baku, Common and one extra language of your choice.
