Fake Hoff is a sort of a tactile illusion created via blood magic that allows Samuel Summers to make a swarm of bats appear as a phantom vampire vaguely resembling Count Drakenhoff.
The phantoms have physical presence and can fight in close combat with considerable effectiveness, although they appear to posses only a fraction of the strength exhibited by a fully fledged vampire. They are also capable of channeling simple spells such as Magic Missile.
Upon being defeated, the phantoms burst into a swarm of bats which can continue fighting and harassing the enemy.
