Description
Dragon Dice is a gambling dice game popular all across Eoran. There are several different versions of the game, with different rules and betting patterns. There are also several regional variants.
The dice however are almost always the same. They have six faces with the following symbols:
- Skull
- New Moon
- Waxing Moon
- Full Moon
- Waning Moon
- Dragon
The game usually revolves around rolling a number of dice and counting repeated symbols. Dragons are usually good, skulls are usually bad, and moon faces can have varying pay-outs.
Street Variant
The variant of the game that is usually used by hustlers and con artists is purely luck based (when played fairly). It revolves around a betting loop in which the player bets a fixed sum on a roll, and then rolls three dice. The pay-out is based on the pattern of the faces, with most common combinations paying nothing and the rarest ones dubbing paying double or triple the initial bet.
Sailor's Variant
The Sailor's Dice requires two or more players and involves a shared pool of dice rolled openly for the entire table. The players are given a set of dice each, and use a wooden cup or a bowl to roll them secretly. Based on their roll, and the table pattern they then take rounds betting, then raising the bet or folding in a pattern similar to poker. Once betting rounds are complete the players reveal their dice and best pattern takes the money.
This variant is played by the Protagonists aboard the Royal Seagull.
