Cousin Scratch Glyph

Cousins were a prison gang that operated within the Barren Cliffs Refugee Camp. It was originally established to facilitate smuggling resources and messages in and out of the camp, and improve living conditions for the inhabitants. It later transformed into a fully fledged resistance group which spearheaded the prison riots that eventually lead to liberation of the camp.

The organization was lead by Rando DeButt and Harlan Underford who recruited remaining members from within the camp population. Most of the group members were Rando's former criminal associates and underlings, trusted members of Fairhaven Cartel or members of the Thieves Guild. The group members would usually refer to each other as "cousins" in order to misdirect the guards and provide an easy off-hand excuse as to why they would frequently visit each other. This later became the moniker for the entire group.

Cousins would sometimes use a double C scratch glyph as a secret marking symbol that could be easily scratched in the sand, or on a wooden post to note a place of interest or warning.

Each of the Cousins would maintain a network of Pals - trusted aides who were trained and vetted to become cousins. The Pals were not privy to the group's operations, and did not receive kickbacks or perks, but enjoyed increased status and power. They were mostly used as muscle and low level operatives.

The entire gang had about 20 members total, not counting Pals and associates such as Takklinn Thunderbottom and Bilbido Tastyflute who provided them with skilled services.
