Rando DeButt
Rando DeButt (pronounced dee-BOO-tay) is a Fairhaven crime lord. His gang controls most of the docks and market district. He is a loudmouth, and a jackass, but as far as criminal masterminds go, he is considered to be the lesser evil. Most of his profits come from the smuggling operations and highway banditry. He is able to control what comes into the city, and what leaves it. He prefers to prey on outsiders, and foreign merchants.
Unlike the other gangs in the city, his crew does not extort protection money from the local businesses. This controversial, patriotic, business-friendly stance has resulted in a lot of good will from the community. The City Guards are willing to turn the blind eye towards his exploits, and consider him the least of their worries.
Rando is rather short for a Halfling. His adopted half-brother Krud DeButt is larger than most humans. The two of them are inseparable with Rando providing the brains, and Krud providing the brawn. Together they lead Rando's Crew.
Rando was hired by Richard Oddenheim to handle the delicate matter of smuggling his artifacts out of Fairhaven.
Rando has been incarcerated on charges that link him to the pirate activity in the area. The evidence that lead to his arrest has been planted by the Protagonists on orders from Two Knives Tim. His gang was being temporarily lead by his half-brother Krud DeButt.
During the Siege of Fairhaven Rando was released from prison and managed to evacuate the city along side the Protagonists.
He was interned in the Barren Cliffs Refugee Camp where he started a prison gang known as the Cousins. He was tortured and crucified for leading the first Barren Cliffs prison riot, but rescued during the second riot which resulted in liberation of the camp.
